As I Am - Asian American Diversity/Inclusion
asmine Ma currently serves as the 2020 International Junior Miss Taiwan. Crowned in January, Jasmine sets the tone for women in STEM who compete in the world of pageantry. The reigning Miss Taiwan currently resides in Los Angeles, California as a Product Manager in the Engineering Resins Industry. With a Bachelors in Psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, Jasmine uses her degree to promote education and knowledge on and off the stage.
No stranger to the stage, Jasmine held many local and state titles before her journey with the International Junior Miss Scholarship Organization. In 2019, Jasmine won the IJM Pennsylvania Miss title, representing the state of PA at the competitive international competition held in Orlando, Florida. After her amazing performance, she was scouted by MMG Model, Talent, Celebrity Management after competing in the modeling (Casual Wear) competition.
Miss Taiwan uses her platform as an international representative to shed light on acceptance . She promotes her advocacy: As I am - a women’s empowerment group focusing on diversity and inclusion. Her passion stems from struggling to identify with figures in the media that looked like her. The stories that had characters who resembled her were always single-dimensional, monolithic, one-time, or recurring-side characters, rarely, if-ever a complex and developed protagonist. She’s proud to be a first-generation Taiwanese-American, a bridge between Eastern and Western culture.
