'Rise Up & Conquer' Homelessness
On August 4th, 2019, Jashira Bolden won the most prestigious African-American International pageant titles in the world. As the reigning Miss Black International Ambassador, Jashira is the founder of the non-profit organization, “Rise up and Conquer” which raises funds for shelters in East St. Louis, Illinois. When she’s not tending to her advocacy, Jashira is an active member of the East St. Louis NAACP and has served as President of the youth council. She also devoted several years as a member of the East St. Louis chapter of Top Teens of America where she was a part of the nominating committee. Her honors and awards include receiving the “Do The Right Thing Award” and the “Excellence in Volunteerism Award” by the East. St Louis chapter of the National Council of Negro Women. She was honored to receive the “Prudential Spirit of Community Service Award” by former President Barack Obama. From annual youth empowerment summits to being an extraordinary woman of outstanding community service, this NAACP Millennium recipient has a wealth of experience in scholarship and volunteerism throughout the state of Illinois.
Jashira currently attends Missouri Western State University where she is a Political Science student minoring in Legal Studies. At her University, Jashira is a Resident Assistant, the vice Chairwoman of the External Relations Committee, the first African American Homecoming Director, and currently serves as the Director of Student Involvement. Outside of her collegiate accomplishments, Jashira continues to promote her platform by encouraging youth to take the role of being a voice for their community by mentoring and providing opportunities for them to be involved.
As Miss Black International Ambassador, Jashira has developed a passion project called: Silence the Hate. As the organizer, Jashira has a mission to provide a strategic plan and impactfully reform policing, eliminate white supremacy, and advocate on behalf of the Black Community. Silence the Hate’s overall goal is to overpower the hate and restore it with equality.
An advocate, philanthropist, a global leader, and an agent of change, Jashira Bolden is a role model to women across the world. From volunteering on the frontlines to end economic disparities to serving as the face to numerous race related campaigns, the Miss Black International Ambassador is relevant and ready to make a difference with like-minded entities and organizations.
